The Challenge

Contracting work was spread across separate spreadsheets and files. Quotations, bill-of-quantities items, cost breakdowns, site progress, and purchasing each lived in a different place, so management, engineering, site teams, and procurement rarely looked at the same numbers.

Our Solution

Bunyan Flow starts from the client, project, and quotation data, then organizes BOQ items from a reusable library and connects each one to its tasks and cost elements. Approved items become an execution plan where quantities and workers are distributed and progress is tracked. Site teams receive tasks with instructions and attachments, and record the work they actually completed while the remaining quantity stays visible. The platform also covers procurement, attachments, approvals, payment scheduling, and financial follow-up. An executive dashboard summarizes the quotation pipeline, value, margins, and recent activity, while every operational detail stays connected to its original item or task.

Unify the path from quotation to delivery in one workspace. Link every BOQ item to its tasks and cost elements: materials, labor, tools, equipment, and subcontractors. Turn approved items into an execution plan with quantities, crews, and progress. Let site teams record completed work against the remaining quantity. Give management a live view of quotation value, win rate, and margin.

Outcomes

The delivered platform covers the contracting workflow from quotation to recorded site progress in a single system, with an executive dashboard, cost breakdown per task, execution planning, and a site-team workflow. No public demo is exposed for this case study.

Challenges

The hard part was keeping one connected data model across quotations, BOQ items, tasks, the execution plan, and procurement. Sensitive operations such as creating a plan or updating executed quantities run inside database transactions so the numbers never drift apart.

Our Role

JK Software Solutions designed and built the full product: the React interface, the NestJS REST API split into business modules, the PostgreSQL data model through Prisma, validation, API documentation, and spreadsheet import and export.
